SUSTAINABILITY
From tree planting to recycling subsidies, many of the BID’s existing projects place a strong emphasis on sustainability. However, as the climate crisis worsens we recognize the need to do more. Therefore, together with partner organisations and local authorities, we are working to develop projects specifically focused on reducing Waterloo’s emissions to net zero by 2030.
CLEANING & GREENING
WeAreWaterloo employs a dedicated cleaning and greening team which supplements the council’s existing provision to help keep the Waterloo BID area looking lovely.
SECURITY
The safety and security of everyone that lives, works and visits Waterloo remains a core priority of the BID. Our specialist security team is headed by our BID Security Manager, Karol Doherty, who works closely with security partners and member businesses to reduce crime and improve safety.
RECYCLING
As part of our sustainability commitments, we actively encourage businesses to recycle their waste. Every business is eligible for a free allocation of recycling bags, cardboard tape and collection, through our flagship service with First Mile.
