Day 2 of LSBU’s Product of South Bank Marketplace officially opened by Meeta, Manager of Lower Marsh Market

Meeta, the manager of Lower Marsh Market, kicked off the second day of LSBU’s Product of South Bank Marketplace by ringing the bell in celebration. This indoor market offers LSBU students and staff a platform to showcase their entrepreneurial ventures, ranging from handmade crafts and clothing to artwork and cakes.

Speaking at the event, Meeta shared:
“There’s nothing quite like the joy of seeing a space come alive with enthusiastic traders showcasing their products and offering an incredible variety of food, drinks, services, and shopping options. I have seen traders go from one stall once a week to twice a week, growing their number of stalls at different markets to eventually opening their own bricks-and-mortar shop. I am a big advocate of markets as I believe they help promote independent businesses and are great places to buy that perfect present that you may not see anywhere else. Starting a business takes determination, resilience, and a dash of humour, and I would like to congratulate all of the entrepreneurs here today for being a part of this fantastic event.”

The event highlights the importance of fostering local talent and creating opportunities for budding entrepreneurs to connect with the community. Lower Marsh Market and WeAreWaterloo are proud to support initiatives like this, encouraging collaboration and building future working relationships.
