Acting Co-Chief Executives, Harrie and Alex, headed off to sunny Strasbourg last week to present on why BIDs are uniquely placed to expediently shape Public Realm initiatives on behalf of their communities, particularly within the urban greening landscape.
Alongside delegates from Milan, San Francisco and Athens, Harrie and Alex discussed how the Placemaking Strategy for the area helped bring various interventions to life, in addition to summarising plans for the future. They were joined by municipalities from across Europe, students and practitioners as well as fellow London BIDs.
Speaking of their time at the conference, Harrie and Alex said: ‘We have come back to Waterloo full of inspiration and ideas to help our community and neighbourhood. We loved sharing best practice with global leaders in the field, and have already scheduled a couple of meet-ups here in Waterloo in a few weeks time!’
