What’s On in Waterloo – June

What’s On in Waterloo This June

June’s looking pretty lively in Waterloo.

From outdoor cinema and rooftop evenings to live music, theatre and the return of the World Cup, there’s plenty happening across the ‘Loo this month. Whether you’re planning where to watch the big game, catch a show or make the most of the longer evenings, Waterloo has you covered.

Summer in Waterloo

Summer officially kicks off on 18 June with the launch of the Reimagining Emma Cons Gardens summer series. Expect an evening of performances, music and community as the gardens transform into a lively cultural space for the season ahead.

And later that week, Lower Marsh Lates returns for summer 2026 with FREE outdoor cinema nights, live entertainment and big 90s energy. Kicking things off on 25 June, Cool Runnings will take over Lower Marsh for a feel-good evening under the Waterloo sunset.

Bring your mates, grab some food and settle in for one of Waterloo’s favourite summer traditions.

Football fever

The World Cup is back, and Waterloo’s pubs and bars are ready.

Whether you’re backing England, following another nation or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there are plenty of places across the neighbourhood showing the games throughout the tournament.

Expect packed pubs, big screens, cold pints and plenty of summer sporting drama. From The Walrus and The Three Stags to The King’s Arms and beyond, there’s no shortage of places to settle in and watch the action unfold.

Theatre & culture

There’s plenty for theatre lovers this month.

At The Old Vic, Glengarry Glen Ross runs from 4 June – 18 July. David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy-drama remains one of the sharpest and most influential plays of the last century.

Over at IWM London on 8 June, actor and author Celia Imrie joins Fidelis Morgan for a special in-conversation evening exploring her novel Meet Me At Rainbow Corner, inspired by wartime love letters and diaries from the Second World War.

And for something a little more intimate, 1901 Arts Club hosts Chopin & Champagne on 19 June, with pianist Warren Mailley-Smith performing Chopin’s Etudes Op.25 across two candlelit recitals – each beginning with a complimentary champagne reception.

Nights out & local favourites

The Walrus is going all out this June with its busiest month yet. Expect DJ nights, comedy nights, karaoke, World Gin Day celebrations, a brand new dog walking club, live music every Saturday and the regular Tuesday pub quiz – alongside plenty of drinks deals and free events throughout the month.

Looking for another quiz night? Head to The Three Stags every Wednesday from 8pm for Quizzy Wednesdays, with prizes up for grabs each week.

Or round off the weekend at The King’s Arms, where Sunday quiz nights kick off from 7pm with Question One Quiz – alongside Thai food, drinks and plenty of friendly competition.

Cocktails & rooftop season

Longer evenings mean one thing: rooftop season is officially here.

Whether you’re heading to a rooftop after work, watching a World Cup match with friends, catching a show or settling into a deckchair at Lower Marsh Lates, June is packed with reasons to stay local and make the most of the season.
