Waterloo Blooms: Community Spirit in Action

Thanks to the collaborative spirit of local businesses, Waterloo is blooming beautifully. A heartfelt thank you goes to McQueens Flowers for their thoughtful idea of donating leftover display blooms, enhancing our area and promoting a circular economy.

Our head gardener, Frances, along with cleaning-team lead Jose, creatively planted these vibrant violas and kalanchoe throughout our neighborhood, including Emma Cons and Baylis Road. Some of these blooms have also added charm to Lower Marsh, creating inviting spaces for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, we exchanged plants with the Waterloo Action Centre (WAC), who kindly swapped lavender with us, showcasing the power of community cooperation and resource sharing.

This initiative perfectly illustrates the circular economy in action, where resources are reused and repurposed to benefit the community. These small, thoughtful actions have a meaningful impact, enhancing the vibrancy and appeal of our neighborhood.

We invite you to be part of this positive change. Whether you have donations, skills, or time to offer, or simply wish to support future projects, explore our Community Hub. It’s your gateway to engaging with Waterloo’s businesses, charities, schools, and residents. Together, we can continue to cultivate a thriving community and make lasting contributions to our shared environment.
