BID Proposal 2026-31

Informed by your priorities, this proposal sets out our plans for 2026-31. Following a successful ballot, we look forward to shaping the future of Waterloo with you.

Our Pledges

Our commitments to you:

  • Keep Waterloo’s streets safe, clean and welcoming by increasing our on-street security patrols, and continuing to fund a dedicated cleaning and greening team.
  • Promote Waterloo as a vibrant destination through events, marketing campaigns, and improving the physical welcome into the neighbourhood.
  • Support local businesses with cost-saving initiatives and help them connect, grow, and flourish within our community.
  • Adapt our streets to protect people from extreme weather and support businesses to achieve collective sustainability and environmental ambitions.
  • Continue to deliver a thriving market
on Lower Marsh that serves local workers, residents and visitors.

How the ballot works

WeAreWaterloo is funded and shaped by you, our members. Businesses with a rateable value of £14,000 or more contribute 1.6% of their rateable value each year to support our work in the area.

Every five years, we ask our members to vote on whether they want us to keep delivering projects and services that make Waterloo thrive.

Every eligible business in the BID area will receive a ballot paper and can vote by post. For the BID to be renewed, we need a majority of businesses to vote YES – both by number and total rateable value. If the vote is successful, we’ll continue delivering projects and services that make Waterloo an even better place to work, visit, and enjoy.

If you want WeAreWaterloo to keep making a difference in the neighbourhood from 2026-31 and bring our manifesto plans to life, simply vote yes and return the ballot paper before 19 Feb 2026.

2026-31 BID AREA

Waterloo, a place where culture, creativity and a good pub await you at every turn. Experience iconic landmarks like The Old Vic and IWM London, a host of hidden gems, green spaces and hotels, all within the literal centre of London.

SUCCESS IN MOTION

Waterloo is more than a place – it’s the people who bring it to life. That’s why we handed the mic to the business owners and community voices who shape our streets every day.

In their own words, they share the impact the BID has had on them, and how working together has helped shape our vibrant neighbourhood.
