Want to trade At Lower Marsh Market?

Fishmongers, bakers and cake-makers – Lower Marsh Market wants YOU.

On Monday, October 15th a new management company took over the historic Waterloo street market.

Lower Marsh Market Ltd – a new arm of business improvement district Waterloo Quarter – will run the market for the benefit of the local business community, with all proceeds from pitch fees being ploughed back into the area.

Although currently a predominantly takeaway food market, the management company wants to introduce a better mix of commodities to the street.

It also wants to trial a Thursday evening market and a Saturday market in the medium-term future, and will utilise Portas Pilot money to drive the market forward in conjunction with Morley College and local arts organisations.
Managers are particularly interested in hearing from entrepreneurs who wish to trade fresh produce, arts and crafts, fashion and high quality meat and fish.

They also want to build on the recent positive publicity generated for the street by the visit of HRH Prince Charles in January and the Independents’ Day campaign in July.

Current traders on Lower Marsh include Buen Provecho, Savage Salads, Chula Fused Foods and Ash Green Organics.

A daily list of traders is released every morning by the @LowerMarshMrkt twitter feed.

If you are interested in trading on the market, or have any views about it, please email info@wearewaterloo.co.uk or call 020 7620 1201.
