Spend your day

Waterloo is more than a station; with arts, culture and eateries aplenty, we’ve created a ‘spend your day’ guide so you can make the most of our neighbourhood. Look out for weekly tips from the local BID – and area experts - WeAreWaterloo.

Early start? No problem. If it’s incredible coffee you’re after, head for Coleman’s Coffee Roasters on Lower Marsh, or for something more substantial fill your boots – and your belly – with a full English at The Bus Café, one of our many hidden gems, located on Cornwall Road.
Lunchtime pint, and a bite? We’ve got you covered. From The King’s Arms in Roupell Street (serving up traditional ales, and delectable Thai food out back) to Travelling Through bookshop (one of our many venues for 2019!), which has a wide range of tropical teas and small plates, both offer an intimate environment to sit back and unwind. Wanting to stretch the legs? Escape the cold at IWM London, and join their ‘From Bedlam to Baghdad: An Introduction to IWM Tour’ to learn more about the museum’s origin as Bethlem mental hospital, while exploring contemporary conflicts.
Our latest edition to Lower Marsh is well worth a visit; Unwined in Waterloo is a fuss-free wine bar, with a new chef on rotation every month serving stylish small plates. However, if you’ve already got a bottle, head to Marie’s Café – also on Lower Marsh – for traditional Thai food, and Waterloo’s only BYOB.
