The Last Straw - Trash Talk: Celebrate International Women's Day 2019 with an all female discussion panel on sustainability
Earlier this month, Pinterest reported that searches for ‘sustainable living for beginners’ were up 265% from last year. With more and more studies pointing to a growing consumer interest in sustainable living, particularly among Millennials and Gen Z, on International Women’s Day, a panel of female influencers will discuss how people can embrace a more sustainable lifestyle this International Women's Day.
Keen to ensure sustainability doesn’t become a passing fad or tick box exercise, 'The Last Straw - Trash Talk’ will see panellists share practical tips to help attendees easily adopt practices within their personal and work lives.
Organised by WeAreWaterloo, this discussion is one of several events taking place during The Young Vic’s 'March on Plastic' season, and the first talk in the PowWow Waterloo debate series.
Chairing the Panel is Stephanie Tudgey aka Sustainable Stephanie; a sustainability influencer and full time corporate environmental advisor with a first class masters degree in Environmental Sciences. Panellists include Laila Woozeer (a writer/musician who follows an ethical, low-waste, sustainable lifestyle helping people on a budget to adopt sustainable practices), Sophie Benson (a writer, stylist and lecturer working with a focus on sustainable fashion and feminism), Sophie Davies aka A Considered Life (a writer and jewellery designer passionate about living a low waste, plant-based, simple lifestyle), and Liv Andersson (a Sustainability & Physics Engineer for Buro Happold; passionate about developing new methods for energy optimisation).
