Lower Marsh Lates Featured in Secret London

Lower Marsh Lates returns for 2026 – and we’re going back to the 90s

After selling out in 2025, Lower Marsh Lates is back this summer, and this year we’re rewinding to the 90s. As Secret London put it, “a free open-air cinema series will transform one of London’s oldest market streets into an entertainment destination.”

Building on a sold-out 2025

Last year’s series brought thousands of visitors to Lower Marsh, with footfall on screening nights running 21% above the average Thursday. The screenings didn’t just fill the street – they introduced new audiences to Waterloo. (Read more about last year’s success here)

Talking to people who came along, many told us it was their first time on Lower Marsh, or even their first time hearing of the street. Some had no idea our historic market street existed at all, and were equally surprised to discover the many theatres and restaurants that make Waterloo one of London’s most cultural neighbourhoods. For many, Waterloo had always just been “the station.”

Events like Lower Marsh Lates are vital for putting Waterloo on the map. They shine a spotlight on Lower Marsh as a hidden gem and introduce people to the whole of Waterloo and give them a reason to come back and discover more.

Waterloo is an international visitor destination, home to world-renowned organisations and iconic streets. But what defines it most is its independent character and community spirit. Lower Marsh Lates puts that character front and centre, and brings new footfall straight to the doors of the businesses that make this area what it is.
