Lambeth Heritage Festival 2025

Lambeth Heritage Festival : Celebrating the stories of our borough

Lambeth’s rich and diverse histories take centre stage this September as the Lambeth Heritage Festival 2025 returns with over 75 events and activities across the borough.

Organised by Lambeth Archives and the Lambeth Local History Forum, the festival invites everyone to explore the stories, places, and people that have shaped our communities.

The festival launches on Saturday 6 September with the Lambeth Local History Fair at Clapham Library – a lively day filled with stalls, talks, and displays from local history groups. From there, the month-long programme offers something for everyone:

  • Talks on Brixton pubs, the artists of Vauxhall and Kennington, and the history of Lambeth Town Hall

  • Insights into the construction of Lambeth’s four “Waterloo churches”

  • Online workshops to help you uncover your own family history

  • A packed programme of guided walks and tours, led by local societies and the Lambeth Tour Guides’ Association, revealing hidden corners and stories of our borough

Whether you’re a lifelong Lambeth resident or new to the area, the festival is a chance to connect with the past, celebrate our shared heritage, and discover the layers of history all around us.
