Green Flag Community Award 2025/26

Waterloo’s pocket parks and planters have secured the Green Flag Community Award 2025/26 – the national gold standard for community-led green spaces.

A huge thank you to everyone who makes this possible:

  • The volunteers who turn up to our Rooted lunchtime gardening club – planting, watering, sweeping and tidying week after week

  • Frances Ward, Head Gardener, for designing the beds and keeping every square metre in bloom

  • The residents and passers – by who respect and care for the spaces each day

  • Our operations team for the behind-the-scenes work, litter picks, graffiti removal, repairs and safety checks

This recognition belongs to all of you.

Our next ROOTED session is on 6 August on Hercules Road. If you’d like to pull on some gloves and help keep Waterloo green, sign up via here.
