Free Climate Action Support for Local Businesses

Free Climate Action Support for Local Businesses

WeAreWaterloo is delighted to share details of the next phase of the Climate Collective – a programme funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by the Mayor of London. This initiative offers free sustainability support to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) cut costs, reduce carbon emissions, and future-proof their business.

What’s on Offer?

  • Expert-led Training
A series of 12 free workshops led by sustainability specialists will run from September through early 2026. Covering practical topics such as reducing food waste, cutting energy use, greener procurement, and sustainable commuting, these sessions are designed to give businesses the tools to make immediate, impactful changes. The first session, Top Tips for Reducing Food Waste, takes place online on 18 September 2025.
  • Carbon Literacy Training
From 24 September, SMEs can register staff for one of six accredited Carbon Literacy training days. These full-day courses (worth £150 per person) equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to embed sustainability within their organisation, while earning a recognised certificate.
  • Bespoke Consultancy
A limited number of businesses will also receive up to 20 hours of free 1-to-1 consultancy with a sustainability expert, offering tailored advice on emissions reporting, accreditations, or communications. Recruitment is open now, and spaces are filling quickly.
  • Digital Resources
Alongside training and consultancy, the Climate Collective provides access to a library of case studies, toolkits and how-to guides, showcasing success stories and sharing practical tips for businesses at every stage of their sustainability journey.

Why Take Part?

This is a unique opportunity to access expert guidance at no cost – support that would normally be valued at thousands of pounds. Whether your priority is lowering energy bills, reducing waste, or engaging your team in climate action, the Climate Collective can help your business take the next step.
