My IWM offers the opportunity for you to join the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow military medals expert, Mark Smith, for a tour of IWM’s Collection at IWM London. Mark will offer a personal and insightful exploration into the collection, while discussing his new book, Medal Man.

Mark grew up listening to his father telling him bedtime stories about his Second World War experiences crewing RAF flying boats. After spending hours poring over old logbooks and examining medals that belonged to his father’s crewmates, Mark has pieced together his father’s story. It is a very personal, highly enthralling tale of courage, compassion – and closure. He will be joined by one of IWM’s longest-serving curators, Nigel Steel. This unique tour will be followed by a Q&A with Mark and Nigel.
