Waterloo Businesses Reach 1,000 Hours of Learning with Seedl

We’re celebrating a brilliant milestone for Waterloo businesses, with local businesses now completing over 1,000 hours of learning through Seedl.

Seedl, which is free to all WeAreWaterloo BID members, gives local businesses access to a wide range of online training, from live courses and on-demand learning to practical resources that support staff development, compliance and workplace upskilling.

Since launching, the platform has seen strong take-up across the BID area, with hundreds of local employees using Seedl to build confidence, refresh essential skills and access training that supports their day-to-day work.

According to our latest Seedl review, 651 licences have been created since April 2024, with 367 live users. In total, users have completed 705 courses and accessed 119 books through the platform.

The range of training being used by Waterloo businesses reflects the variety of needs across the area. Popular courses have included workplace essentials such as food hygiene, fire safety, GDPR. There is also growing interest in areas such as communication skills, project management, leadership, mental health and wellbeing, AI and technology.

It is especially encouraging to see businesses using Seedl not only for compliance training, but also for people-focused development. From improving communication to supporting inclusive workplaces and helping teams feel more confident in their roles, the platform offers an easy way for businesses to invest in their staff.

Seedl is designed to be flexible, making it useful for businesses of different sizes and sectors. Whether you are a small team looking for essential training, a hospitality business needing compliance support, or a larger organisation wanting to offer wider professional development.

Reaching 1,000 hours of learning is a fantastic achievement and a real sign that Waterloo businesses are making the most of this free BID benefit.
