The Old Vic at 200

To celebrate The Old Vic’s 200th birthday, they are throwing one heck of a celebration, all entirely free.

You are cordially invited to attend The Old Vic's free Street Party and Open House on Saturday 12th May. Suitable for all ages, enjoy a special day of fun and entertainment – the more, the merrier.

12noon – Join the procession festivities begin on the South Bank outside the National Theatre. From there we will be led to The Old Vic by a 10-piece marching band from Kansas Smitty’s, with surprise performances along the way.

1.30pm – The Webber Street Street Party opens. Bring along your family, friends, neighbours (anybody!) and be entertained as the street is brought to life by street performers, craft activities, food stalls and an interactive pedal-powered sound system. Plus Showtime Photo Booth are providing their GIF photo booth.

1.45pm – Inside The Old Vic a full programme of completely free activities for ages 3+ will begin. All Open House events are FREE but will require a ticket.

From 8PM – For one night only, see The Old Vic’s auditorium transformed into a never-seen-before cabaret space for our Bicentenary Variety Night. Harking back to The Old Vic’s days as a Music Hall in the 1880s, The Old Vic will present a mix of new and established talent including new musical compositions from 2018 Olivier Award winner Sheila Atim (Girl from the North Country), comedy from Tim Key, an exclusive performance written by Dennis Kelly (Matilda the Musical) and much, much more. Tickets start at £15. Find out more here

Tickets can be booked in advance with a small allocation of tickets available for walk-ups on the day. Capacity is limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
