The Waterloo Sitting Group is a welcoming space for anyone who wish to practice mindfulness in a group. This weekly drop-in group is designed for those with prior experience with mindfulness meditation. The group gathers every Wednesday on the second floor of the Drive Forward Foundation building.
The general format will be:
SLOT 1 18:30 - 20:00
20 min movement meditation (Hatha yoga) Gentle movement exercises
10 min break to use bathroom, make a drink, allow newcomers in
SLOT 2 19:00 - 20:00
25 min sitting meditation (breath/body) First sitting practice to settle the mind and body into a relaxed state of concentration
5 min break
25 min sitting meditation (open awareness) Second sitting practice, to open the mind up to a state of curious, open awareness
5 min group discussion & close
Participants can arrive at one of two timeslots: 18:20 for a 18:30 start (stay for all 3 practices) 18:50 for a 19:00 start (stay for 2 practices). Note: this is to accommodate different work finishing times – London is a busy place! But please try to make the earlier time slot if possible.

The facilitator, Kerry, is a qualified Mindfulness Teacher and Coach, having trained with London Meditation. She is listed on the UK Network for Mindfulness Teachers and is accredited by the Association for Coaching. She leads 8-week mindfulness programmes, all-day retreats, 4-week introductory courses, drop-in sitting groups and one-to-one sessions. She is proud to be a Provider of the London Meditation Community.
