V3 is an art-focused project space and the latest venture from the team behind The Vaults, located a stone’s throw away in the arches underneath Waterloo station. This new space celebrates the making and exhibiting of art by facilitating month-long residencies that see the final show unfold as the artists take run of the gallery during that time. A cafe/bar on the ground floor provides an opportunity for people to explore and be part of the ever-changing space and the ideas born within it.

Each month an artist, collective or organisation lead a residency based from the top floor studio which includes screen printing, risograph and darkroom facilities. Starting with a theme or idea, an evolving and expanding network of multidisciplinary artists will be invited to create relevant work over a 3 week period.

The space promotes the process behind the making of work and encourage collaboration, conversation and public engagement. There is a strong focus on public outreach and participation via workshops and other events in order to provide a creative outlet and platform for people beyond practicing artists. The daily output and the amounting body of work will be on display in the gallery to create a constantly evolving multi-sensory experience. After a three week ‘making period’ the resulting work is curated into a final exhibition that will be on show for the last week of the each month.
