The head chef here is no shrinking violet. He wants you to experience the true taste of Thailand, so his green curries are pretty darned hot. (He does relent when asked though and will add a dash more coconut milk if you prefer a milder flavour.)
Originally located in Waterloo station, Thai Silk moved to these larger premises on Isabella Street some seven years ago. The larger space means they can operate a separate bar and restaurant area, making it popular with diners and drinkers alike.
With the head chef given a free rein over the dishes in the restaurant, expect to find surf ‘n’ turf on the menu one day and catch of the day the next.
The cocktails are great - they do a mean mojito - and we seem to be drawn here on a Friday night as the resident DJ packs the dance floor with tunes influenced by the mood of the crowd.
