If we are ever in the need of a touch of artistic inspiration we pop over to view the works at Llewellyn Alexander - probably the most convenient fine art gallery to get to in London.

Llewellyn Alexander has sat proudly opposite the Old Vic for more than a quarter of a century and is less than 30 seconds walk from Waterloo Station.

The gallery features 10 new exhibitions each year, all of which are dedicated to the finest British contemporary and figurative paintings by living artists.

Previous fine paintings on display include work by artists Peter Graham, John Yardley, Jeremy Barlow and Edna Bizon, and a selection of other paintings may also be viewed while exhibitions take place.

Staff including Nick Dawton (pictured) are also on hand to provide information about each of the works of art.

Our little known fact about Llewellyn Alexander:
The Waterloo gallery is the main gallery in Europe for contemporary miniatures.
