Miracle on Leake Street Draws Record Crowds

The fifth “Miracle on Leake Street” captivated the public, transforming the renowned graffiti tunnel into a festive extravaganza for one unforgettable night. Footfall surged by 28%, with 4037 visitors from 6 pm to 11 pm, surpassing the four-year average of 3160.

Held on December 7th, the free celebration featured diverse entertainment, from graffiti workshops to a festive market. Leake Street Arches became London’s coolest Christmas hangout, featuring a snowboard simulator, DJ Santa, and a snow machine.

Highlights included a captivating cabaret by Pi the Mime, a ‘Home Alone 2’ screening, and a graffiti workshop by Artist-in-Residence Marc Craig.  Attendees left their mark on the tunnel walls, and there were festive activities for all ages.

Organized by WeAreWaterloo and South Bank London, the event raised donations supporting Waterloo Foodbank. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for making this magical night possible!

Together At Christmas – Tis The Season to Give!

Our annual ‘Together at Christmas‘ campaign is a special initiative in which gifts are donated by local business, wrapped and distributed to a variety of fantastic local charities. Thanks to donating businesses and community wrappers, last week marked its most successful donation drive to date! In the festive spirit, we wrapped and distributed over 600 gifts to those in need throughout South Bank and Waterloo.

In collaboration with South Bank BID, WeAreWaterloo collected gifts from 18 businesses which were delivered to Waterloo Action Centre. The Community Wrapping Day saw our largest turnout yet –  it was amazing to see so many of you take part.

Santa’s helpers, Alex and Harrie, then drove around South Bank and Waterloo to deliver these freshly wrapped gifts to 8 charitable organisations on Friday 15 December, just in time for the Christmas holidays. We want to say a big thank you to the businesses and the volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to take part and give back to our wider community.

Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!
